Making a Choice

February 21, 2011Rhoda I am inquiring about your online certificate in Social and Community Services I currently have a Bachelor's in Science in General Studies from St. Joseph's College,Patchogue, NY. Due to my youngest son being autistic I have decided to forgo my original plan of being a classroom teacher and pursue a career as an independent consultant. My hope is to one day create an independent not-for profit agency that brings the humanities, such as but not limited to music,art,theatre etc to schools and classrooms comprised of students with varied exceptionalities. I was recently accepted to APUS MA in Humanities however I'd like to defer the start date of that program to first complete a certificate in Social and Community Services, which will provide me the necessary skills I need to successfully attain my professional objectives. Quite a number of years ago I had applied to you school but due to my family obligations couldn't attend. Please tell me if you feel this program would help provide the professional skills I need to pursue my professional objectives.
