Absolutely Worth the Journey

April 26, 2011Sam First, I must say that the degree is worth the money. Currently I have my MS in I/O Psychology from Capella and I am moving towards the finish line of my PhD in I/O Psychology and yes I use my education daily. More importantly my degree and education that came with that degree have created many opportunities for me. My current employer sought me out because of my experience and education to ask me to become their Organizational Development Manager. In this economy I must say that it is refreshing to be sought after rather than chase want ads (three companies have approached me since the first of the year). More importantly, the journey is worth it. I started out very concerned about my GPA and other concerns such as money, now I am at a point that I can appreciate the journey to get where I am at. Graduate school is not about GPA, it is about the journey, the process, the professional development, and most impotantly the personal growth. This program and Capella are worth it.

It's worth it

January 28, 2011Claudio I have a friend with an Organizational Management degree from anothe university, and he's making $95,000 a year and loves his job. He has been with the company for 4 yrs and is now working on his PHD which will push him to a salary of $118,000 after a yr probation period. I've also found quit a few jobs/companies looking for this specific degree. I'm military and retiring in 1yr. I already have job offers for when I finish the Masters in O.Psych. I'm starting the masters this summer.

Great program!

March 2, 2011Stacee The program is tough-there is A LOT of work! The assignments throughout the clases are desinged to apply the information to on the job scenerios, which is very useful!

Useless Degree

November 23, 2010Chris I think the M.S. I/O Psychology is a useless degree. In theory it is supposed to be wonderful, but I have yet to meet anybody that has this degree and is actually doing something with it. When I contacted the Career Center they tried to pitch me the same garbage just like the sales counselors did, btu the bottom line is that the proof is in the pudding. I have not met or talked to anybody that has this degree and is actually doing something with it. I think it is a waste of time and money.
