This online Leadership certificate prepares individuals to serve in leadership or mentoring roles within organizations. Completion of this certificate is an ideal way to update a previously completed degree or to enter a new degree program. If you decide to pursue a master's or doctoral degree at Capella University, the certificate credits may be applicable toward your degree, depending on the program you select.

Note: Certification and Certificates – There is an important distinction between the two terms. The School of Business and Technology offers a variety of graduate certificates. University-sponsored certificates represent an advanced course of study in a specific discipline which is intended to enhance knowledge. However, obtaining a university-awarded certificate is not equivalent to "certification." The term certification refers to the official mandate awarded by a state regulatory board or professional organization to an individual for a specific professional practice.

At the master's level, Capella offers an MS in Leadership program with a General Leadership specialization, as well as a General Business Administration specialization in our MBA program.

Quarter Credit?

March 29, 2012Holly I apologize for what will surely be a stupid question, but here goes: The information above states that this certificate consists of 16 "quarter credits" and that the tuition per "credit" is $591. If I follow correctly, 16 quarter credits would equal 4 (whole) credits, so the total cost would be $2,364. Would anyone be able to confirm this for me? Thx!
